Should have a Diploma or equivalent in surveying obtained from NRC or other recognised training institution with at least 3 yrs experience, Should have the ability to visualise objects, distances, sizes and abstract forms, Must be in good physical condition, must have good eyesight, coordination and hearing to communicate verbally and manually (using hands signals), Must have good interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team, Must be able to interpret and search descriptions of land for deeds, land records and leases, research legal records, look for evidence of previous boundaries and analyse the data determine the location of boundary lines, Must  be able to operate survey instruments and collect information in the field, Must be dynamic, self starter, reliable, high integrity with excellent communication skills at all levels
 
Properly caring and storing of surveys equipment, Issuing appropriate survey instruments with appropriate records to students and staff, Assisting in the operation of survey equipment using high-accuracy techniques, including satellite observations (remote sensing), Collecting information in the field, and performing computations and computer-aided drafting in office
