Overview/Responsibilities:

FHI 360 serves more than 60 countries, all 50 U.S. states and all U.S. territories.We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Deputy Chief of Party in Lilongwe, Malawi. 
Additional Responsibilities:
The Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) is expected to have both relevant financial and administrative management experience. The DCOP will be responsible for and serve as primary coordinator for all aspects of activity finance, administration, compliance, and sub-grants management.

  • Develop program budgets with teams and monitor budget pipelines.
  • Provides timely and accurate financial reports to FHI 360 and USAID as required.
  • Review and approve recommendations for financial planning and control, providing relevant fiscal information to senior management team.
  • Manage internal and external financial audits of the program.
  • Oversee all financial and regulatory compliance functions to ensure an efficient and effective operating platform.
  • Ensure continual review of internal and strategic controls, communications, risk assessments and maintenance of documentation.
  • Support partners as needed to ensure sound financial management and compliance.
  • Ensure that sub-contracts, sub-grants and local consultancy documents and procedures are completed in a timely and correct manner and comply with FHI 360 and funder policies and regulations.
  • Provide overall administration coordination and support to ensure an effective and efficient operating platform for the program. 
Qualifications:
  • A Master’s degree or higher in finance, business, management, or related degree in relevant  field preferred or equivalent experience.
  • At least 10 years of Demonstrated experience in financial regulations, policies, and practices of comparable USG or other international programs funded by other donors.
  • Strong financial and operational management experience with proven management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and team-building skills with significant experience building strong host country national team.
  • Proven ability to work with a wide range of local organizations and people.
  • Excellent understanding of USAID and USG regulations preferred, or applicable international donor experience.
  • The proposed candidate’s experience and education are complementary to those of other proposed candidates.
