POSITION SUMMARY:
ICAP at Columbia University (CU) seeks a healthcare management and administration (HMA) Community of Practice (COP) Officer who will support the development of an HMA COP in Mozambique. The COP will provide an environment for knowledge sharing and creation, with a focus on creating visibility and an identity for the HMA profession, as well as increasing the impetus for more appropriate use of HMA practitioners within the health sector.
This position is contingent upon project award and funding.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Support the planning for and coordination and facilitation of conferences and interest group meetings that target HMA practitioners
- Forge relationships with key national HMA stakeholders
- Collaborate with faculty of a health sciences institute in Mozambique and Columbia University faculty to create and mobilize an alumni network for program graduates
- Facilitate the use of virtual learning platforms, such as webinars, as needed
- Perform other duties, as assigned
EDUCATION:
- A Bachelor’s degree in healthcare management, health sector management, health systems administration, hospital management or related subject area
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least two (2) years of relevant professional experience
- A proven record of excellent planning, meeting coordination, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated experience working effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
- At least five (5) years of experience living or working in a developing country
- Fluent English/Portuguese oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently with strong problem-solving skills Previous experience working in Mozambique is strongly preferred
