We are seeking to complement our policy and economics team with an economist to work in the areas of policy analysis, impact assessment and evaluation. Strong quantitative skills are important, along with a particular emphasis on research, analysis and writing skills. 

The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:

• A Master’s degree or higher in Economics or a closely related field, with demonstrable emphasis or significant amount of coursework in quantitative methods/econometrics;
• Minimum 3 - 5 years of work experience in policy and economic research and analysis, including the use of quantitative techniques such as cost-benefit analysis;
• Experience in sorting, managing and presenting quantitative data;
• Interest and experience in one or more of the following areas: justice and fundamental rights, public health, cohesion policy, climate change, energy and environment, and a willingness to work flexibly across different areas;
• Outstanding spoken and written English, including drafting skills;
• Ability to prioritise a busy and varied workload;
• Experience working with the European Commission’s impact assessment method is a plus, as is knowledge of EU institutions and policies;
• Knowledge of other European languages is a plus.
