Project Description:
Reduce the socio-economic impact of HIV/AIDS on OVC and their caregivers in Mozambique. The overall objective is to enhance the capacity of families and communities to support, protect, and care for OVC and caregivers.
Additional Responsibilities:
The Technical Advisor-OVC will provide the program with specialized technical expertise in OVC programming and to coordinate the program’s work with project partners. S/He will coordinate the development and implementation of the project technical strategy; identify technical assistance needs and training resources as appropriate. S/He will manage the design and implementation of key components of the program description.This position will report to the Project Director.
- Provide technical assistance to the project to ensure state of the art best practices are integrated
- Adapt global and regional technical resources and tools as needed for the local country context
- Conducting technical quality assessments,
- Provide technical mentorship to specific programs to enhance their quality and effectiveness.
- Represent the project in technical meetings, conferences, and coordination platforms
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in a relevant discipline
- Applied skills in designing and implementing monitoring and evaluating activities and formative or operations research for integrated OVC and HIV/AIDS or related programs in developing countries.
- Demonstrated capacity to liaise and negotiate with key stakeholders in other
- organizations,
- Demonstrated capacity to support and supervise staff
- S/he must have strong writing and organizational skills for reporting on program and study results.
- Strong English and Portuguese skills required.
- Knowledge of and experience with the design, management and implementation of OVC programs.
- Sensitivity to cultural differences and understanding of the socio-economic and political situation in Mozambique and the ethical issues surrounding OVC programming.
- Ability to organize systems to monitor administrative as well as project results.
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills.
