Main Responsibilities or Functions of Job MissionReporting to the Steering Committee, you have the overall responsibility for the distribution centre function of Atlas Copco South Africa. Your mission is to create a stable structure by designing and implementing a warehouse lay-out with systems which you as the service provider must ensure are a base for safe, sustainable and profitable growth. In conjunction with Business Area Logistics Managers, it will be your mission to optimise:-Inventory Management & Order Management functions for both Mining and Rock Excavation, Construction and Compressor Technique;Integrated transport logistics;Shipping processes;Import and export administrative processes;Oversee the warehouse & distribution operations of Regional Sales and Multi-brand Offices and operations.Safe and efficient total warehouse & distribution operationsIn order to succeed in this mission it will be vital:-To develop and lead a self-directed team of warehouse & distribution professionals.To create a pleasant and inspiring working environment, to support maximum effectiveness of the team.To analyse and maximize levels to our internal and external customers and minimize supply chain costs.To analyse and meet the growing demands from our customers.Ensure synergies are optimised to ensure efficiency gainsThe main job responsibilities include and are not limited to:-Managing People and Resources, including:Developing and leading the Distribution - Supply and Warehouse - teamsEnsuring the warehouse & distribution Departments are structured and geared towards sustainable productivityReviewing and updating job descriptions and targets of all Warehouse & Distribution - staffInventory Management as per targets set, including:-Spare parts replenishment parameter analysisSpare parts inventory levels and daysMinimizing provisions for obsolescence and scrappingReturns to vendorsStock-take and Cycle-CountingAvailability of Spare PartsCoordinate machine delivery pipelineBranch and service vehicle, emergency stock levelsReduce logistics costs, including:-Transport costs - inwards and outwardsRecover of transport costsAdministration costs - actual and efficiencyWarehouse costs - actual and efficiencyImprove Delivery Efficiency, including:-Warehouse Picking EfficiencyWarehouse Picking AccuracyInvoicing Speed and Delivery PerformanceMachine pipelineSystem Price Management in system for all product lines and brands E-Commerce application administration (AC Connect)All shipping processes and product flow - both spare parts and machines - for domestic and international shipments, including administrative and logistical processesCustomer Order and Service Order management, including the management of all back-orders
Experience requirements
Thorough knowledge of all logistic processes involved - operational, administrative and analytical.You have at least 3 years’ experience in different logistic domains of which at least a few years of operational management experience giving you proven coaching skills.
Educational requirements
University Degree preferably in Supply Chain Management or equivalent in experience Have a sound knowledge of the English language.
