Theatre for a Change Malawi is looking for a volunteer accountant for six months to build the capacity of their local finance team. The post includes flights and a living allowance$1000 a month. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a growing organisation, committed to use innovative approaches to improve the sexual and reproductive health of marginalised groups of people.
Over the six month assignment the role would be split into two parts.
The first months will be spent getting to know the organisation, line managing a small team, supervising the annual audit process and recruiting for a senior finance position. Here you will be responsible for checking and signing off expenses both internally and with the bank.
The following months will be spent inducting the new finance staff, assisting in the transition from QuickBooks to a Sage accounting system and helping to build the capacity of junior finance staff. Throughout this time you will also be responsible for budget management and preparing donor reports to DFID, Comic Relief, Christian Aid, Medicor and Concern Worldwide as well as smaller funders.
