Global Fund Malaria Project Manager
Knowledge of and familiarity with international assistance program requirement, preferably (global Fund) and/or other funding agencies (DFID, World Bank, USAID), their policies and regulations, Familiarity with Global Fund programs, their history and their development, mastery of regulations, governing such programs, Keen understanding of the unique political dynamics of the Country and ability to work carefully and collaboratively to maintain productive relationships with the various govt entities in Malawi, Proven ability in the management of large integrated grant-funded projects in developing countries, Demonstrated accomplishment in working with host-country professionals, ministries and with donor colleagues in country
Strong health background preferable, Previous experience of leading a Project Implementation Unit, public and private grants as well as uning public relations is an advantage, Experience working with govt in an advisory role while remaining accountable to external stakeholders is an advantage, Have subject verbal and writing skills in English
Demonstrate strong management and analytical skills, Have good diplomatic and negotiation skills, Have excellent time management skills combined with strong interpersonal and communication skills, motivate and integrate tem members to achieve project goals, Be innovative and creative, Lead by example, mentor and build capacity, Have exceptionally strong conceptualisation and problem solving skills, Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of professional counterparts within and outside of organisation and at times work under pressure, Be experienced in utilising computer programs, database, Word, Excel an Powerpoint, internet application systems, Have strong commitment to World vision Core Values and Mission statement, Support World Vision’s Christian ethos in action
Travel 30% field travel is required, On call: 10 %
Must be committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities, Personal faith in and commitment to Jesus Christ as expressed through WV Malawi’s vision, mission and core values, Perform other duties as required
Following may be acquired through a combination of formal or elf-education prior experience or on-the-job-training
Advance Degree in Public Health, Health Management, Project Management or related field and/or equivalent qualifications in grant management and a technical field in Southern Africa
7+ yrs of extensive development work experience in managing large and grant-funded projects, Proven ability to manage technical assistance teams and integrate teams of professionals around common goals
