Our Client - My client is one of South Africa leading multi-disciplinary contractors working into the whole of Sub Saharan Africa. They are currently looking for a Project Manager - Asphalt which will be responsible for the management of project resources. Collation and production of project status reports, building, and maintenance of effective relationships with the relevant stakeholders. Ensures adherence to SHERQ policies and procedures.
Job Description -
- Project Management - Management control to ensure that the contractual requirements of the project are within contractual terms.
- Cost Management - Financial analysis, contractor cost control & cost dispute analysis.
- Will have extensive experience of both claims submittal and claim defence, negotiate contract terms, pricing and payment schedules.
- Manage the project budget and ensure project budget control.
- People Management - Responsible for the management of site based staff that consist of production staff, quality representatives, safety representatives and quantity surveyors.
- Risk management and risk mitigation.
- Communication with internal and external clients in writing and verbally with regards to contractual matters.
- Preparing of various reports - (Reconciliations/Progress/Financial etc).
- Ensure compliance to Safety and Quality policies, procedures and standards.
- To support the surfacing team in the execution of all facets during the project life-cycle.
Candidate Requirements –
- Project Management Diploma.
- Relevant Degree/National Diploma Civil Engineering.
- ±6 Years relevant experience.
- Experience in managing Asphalt projects.
- Financial Management acumen.
- Contractual Management acumen.
- Experience in the rehabilitation of roads and surface seals advantageous.
- Good business, numerical and commercial aptitude.
- Acquire strong leadership skills.
- Ability to pay great attention to detail and drive financial optimisation and efficiency.
- Exceptional planning and organising skills.
- Strategic thinker, change agent and must be innovative and creative.
- Assertive and persuasive.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
