IIED is seeking an international trustee from the South or East African region to join the international Board of Trustees from November 2014 for a 3 year term.
Total annual time commitment is a minimum of 4 days a yearcomprising two day board meetings in June and November.
The board is keen to attract candidates with knowledge and experience of one or more of the sectors in which IIED works; and for the board as a whole to reflect the diversity of IIED's beneficiaries, networks and audiences.

Applicants: The deadline for receipt of applications is 5pm 15 May 2014 (UK time). Applications should be in the form of a covering letter, where the applicant sets out how she/he fulfills the person specification for the role, along with a CV. The letter should be addressed to the Nominations sub committee (NSC), and emailed to Liz Aspden, at liz.aspden@iied.org
Nominations: People wishing to nominate other individuals should write a covering letter to liz.aspden@iied.org in support of their nominee by 5pm 15 May 2014 (UK time). The Nominations sub-committee will decide whether to approach the nominee, to ask them to write a covering letter and supply a CV.
Selection process: At its June 2014 meeting, the Board will agree the list of preferred candidates following an interview by phone and vote for election. Unsuccessful candidates will be informed by mid-July.
