 Our client, as public sector organisation and an equal opportunity employer seeks to recruit passionate, dedicated, experienced and qualified individuals of Malawian origin to join its ranks in the Procurement Division
 
The Procurement Division provides a total supply management function that is customer focused, it institutes supply chain management strategies that incorporate a total systems view of the linkages in the chain that work together efficiently and create customer satisfaction at the point of delivery to its internal and external customers. It is the objective of the division that costs are kept low throughout the chain by driving out unnecessary expenses, minimising the procurement process time and focusing attention to value addition. It aims at increasing throughout efficiency and removing process and procedures bottlenecks.  Its performance measurement focuses on total system efficiency and making the supply chain system responsive to customer requirements
 
Will be reporting to the Senior Procurement Manager
 
Will be responsible for all procurement planning activities an developing and maintaining monitoring tools and reports
 
Managing, directing and coordinating all procurement planning activities within his/her remit in strict compliance with the Public Procurement Act, the Public Procurement Regulations and the Desk Instructions while adhering to current best practice in the profession, Assist with the preparation of a multi-Annual Procurement Strategy, Assisting win the preparation of Divisional Annual Procurement Plans through the assessment of needs, corporate plans and budgets, corporate profile sand forecasts, Assist in Developing the overall Annual Procurement Plan in line with the Company’s budget, Undertake contract administration tasks on behalf of the Procurement Division for all relevant contracts in line with the Contract Administration Manual, developing and maintaining the Contract Management plan, Preparation of monthly reports to Management, weekly reports to User Divisions, quarterly reports to the company and ODPP as well as keeping the Procurement File Register up to date, developing and maintaining monitoring tools and reports, Assisting from time to time at internal Procurement Committee (IPC) Meeting or Management Meetings as required by the Senior Procurement Manager, Any other relevant duties as assigned by the Senior Procurement Manager from time to time
 
Organising/Planning Ability – problem solving and time management skills, meting as well as working under deadlines, goal setting based on priorities, Attention to detail – checking for accuracy in one’s work, controlling/eliminating errors, showing concern for all areas of a task, however small, Analytical skills – collecting, comparing and relating data from different sources, identifying issues, anticipating problems, Integrity – can be trusted to perform duties I a proper and honest manner, Computer skills – giving appropriate computer skills and knowledge, ranging from data entry to systems analysis, to achieve work goals, Consultative skills – giving effective professional advice to meet the identified needs of the client/customer, Team skills – being able to work collaboratively with others in a participative management environment, working independently as well as working on a team, Written skills – conveying information accurately in an appropriate written format, expressing oneself effectively in writing
 
First degree from a recognised University majoring in Procurement and Logistics Management, Engineering, Business administration, Finance, Economics, Law or Public Administration, Membership to the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) and holding current membership of the same, Minimum 5 yrs experience at junior management level in procurement
