MaiKhanda is a Malawian NGO and non-profit making org established and registered under Trustees incorporation Act in 2006. Maikhanda works in close partnership with Reproductive Health Unit of the Ministry of Health towards the achievement of Malawi’s “Road Map for accelerating the reduction of Maternal and Neonatal mortality and morbidity in Malawi”. It supports MoH efforts to improve healthcare simultaneously in communities and at health facilities

Finance and Administrative Officer
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Finance and Administrative Officer will for part of the Finance department Team of Maikhanda Trust with the following responsibilities
Finance - Form part of the Team in the development of the organisations’s annual budget, Maintain and the month end work papers and schedules to the trial balance by working closely with the Finance and Grants Manager, Prepare the month end close, financial statements and review with the Director of Finance and Finance and Grants Manager, Assist in posting of transactions in the finical system, Prepare payroll, Ensure that PAYE, withholding Tax, Pension and other statutory requirements are compiled, Assist in reconciliation of Balance Sheet Accounts, Update fixed asset register, Ensure that internal financial controls and audits are in place and done as required, Any other finance/accounting related tasks as assigned fro tie to time
Administration – Work closely wan support district Teams for smooth administrative operations, Supervise and mentor the Program Support Officers and District Office Assistant and Drivers, Assist with the implementation of project activities by providing administrative and logistical support to project staff, Solicit quotations for goods and services ad ensure that procurement procedures are followed, Manage motor vehicles, Manage staff leave, Ensure that systems are in place to get satisfactory use of resources and prevention of abuse by staff in procurement process use of vehicles, computers,, internet, office phones, per diems, etc, Ensure that satisfactory internal controls are in place to safeguard MaiKhanda funds, Ensure that staff are satisfactorily complying with procedures and act accordingly where there are gaps, Produce information as required for the various service areas on time to the Senior Management Team, Ensure that financial services such as the funding (cash flow) activities, meet the appropriate needs of team members on the ground, Any other administrative tasks as assigned from time to time
Degree in Accounting, Business, Public Administration, or related field required, Minimum 3 yrs accounting/book keeping experience, Experience using Sage Pastel accounting system or similar accounting software, Ability to work with diverse group of people, Experience developing and managing accounting staff and fostering service minded culture, Hands-on manager with impeccable integrity, Ability to plan, organise and think strategically, Ability to manage projects, partnerships and professional relationships, Experience developing budgets, Highly organised and flexible in dynamic environment, Commitment to MaiKhanda mission and values
