Because NPL strive for zero error, the position of Copy Editor is crucial to ensuring that news articles are clear, complete, balanced and credible
Cleans copy of clutter and any structural, grammatical, typographical or factual errors, Double checks that names, titles, places and figures are correctly presented in line with NPL Style guide, Checks news articles for libel and ethical pitfalls, Where necessary, rewrites running story, Edits captions, headlines, subheads, page-heading, teasers and any other editorial elements on the page
Excellent written and spoken English, A good eye for detail, Ability to remain focused under intense deadline pressure, Proof of editing and proof-reading knowledge, High integrity, Passion for reading and continuous learning, Team player
Prepared to work odd hours, including weekends where necessary
At least 5 yrs of teaching English or editing
A degree in English or Languages
