Counterpart International, Inc (Counterpart) is currently seeking an IT assistant for the USAID-funded 5 yr, Supporting the Efforts of Partners (STEPS) activity in Malawi, The program provides support to enhance organisational capacity and internal governance of targeted Civil Society Organisations (SCOs), including a subset of CSOs working in the HIV/AIDS, Malaria and Disability sectors, enabling them to increase impact in their respective sectors, at both, the local and national level, The scope of STEPS activity will be accomplished through 2 components, 1) Organisational Capacity Development (OCD) an d2) sub grant awards and management, The position will report to the Human Resource and Administration Manager, The At Assistant is responsible for maintianing the IT system in proper operation and is responsible for all trouble shooting needs of the program
Provide technical and operational support to the program, in close and constant coordination with counterpart HQ, Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications, Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks, Connects with staff or clients through a series of actions, either face to face or over the telephone, to help set up systems or resolve issues, Troubleshooting systems and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults, Ensure installation and upgrading of LAN/WAN information systems) e.g. Resource Mobilisation, Logistics Management, Purchasing, Financial Accounting, antivirus, and industry standard applications etc, Managing user accounts , Responding within agreed time limits to support tickets, Prioritise and manage multiple concurrent open cases, Testing and evaluating new technology as requested, Ensure that the computer systems, including internet, printers, photocopy machine, camera remain fully functional for all users on a daily basis, Ensure that the company laptops, desktop and network resources are protected from malicious virus attacks and deploy countermeasures, Perform documentation and reporting as required, Perform other activities assigned by supervisor
A minimum of 4 yrs relevant experience in IT support, preferably within international organisations, Bachelors Degree in IT or relevant field, Excellent cross cultural skills, ability to work in a diverse, multi cultural environment with respect, professionalism and gender sensitivity, Excellent English communication skills, fluency in local languages is a must, Current, demonstrable knowledge of Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 or 2012, Ad, DNS, DHCP, Current, demonstrable knowledge of data network maintenance, including principles of cabling, switching and TCP/IP, Advanced knowledge of MS Office, Knowledge of Office Office365 and Share Point highly preferred, In depth technical knowledge of PC hardware, Strong and cooperative relationships with others in the organisation and across all functional areas to ensure that we achieve the best results for our programs, Able to develop effective solutions despite ambiguity, Attention to detail Understanding how details, impact the larger outcome and acts tactically to connect the 2
