The School of Engineering in the Faculty of Science and Engineering is seeking a Manufacturing Associate to engage in commercial manufacturing activities together with the implementation of quality systems associated with component manufacture. You will be principally appointed to work on the University’s Telford Campus in the Engineering Department’s workshops and will operate Additive Layer Manufacturing (ALM) and CNC based equipment.
You should have a first degree in Engineering / Science or a related subject area and a good appreciation of general engineering, manufacture and materials science, having relevant experience of the manufacture of metal and polymeric parts using Additive Layer Manufacturing (ALM) processes. Practical / workshop experience will be required together with good communication, written, presentation and general IT skills.
You must be sympathetic to the needs of industry, and be able to work to tight deadlines, be able to work in a team, and demonstrate the tenacity to see project work through to conclusion.
