Lecturer in the History of the English Language

Salary: £32,590, with progression to £36,661

You will be expected to deliver teaching in modules across the UG curriculum, primarily in the history of the English language (including a module in Old English) but also in introductory modules in English language and linguistics more widely. There will also be an opportunity for you to design and deliver your own stage 3 specialist module(s). You will also participate in the School’s thriving postgraduate culture and you will contribute to the teaching of relevant MA modules. You will also be expected to share in the administrative tasks essential to the running of the School and to participate actively in the Centre for Research in Linguistics and Language Sciences
You will have a PhD on a topic within any subfield of the history of the English language, proven experience in teaching the subject to undergraduate students and experience of teaching more widely in topics in English language and linguistics. You should also have a record of high quality publications appropriate to the stage of your career and outstanding plans for future research projects and grant capture.
