Through strategic partnerships, Greenlight Planet has introduced its Sun King™ line of solar lanterns to 30 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, Central and South America and Southeast Asia.
Greenlight Planet is looking for driven, passionate, socially minded sales professionals to join its business development team in Mozambique. We have built distribution partnerships with a few established organizations to introduce Sun Kingto households in Mozambique. Their existing, unique channels enable us to reach millions of off-grid consumers, and we work closely with these partners to develop and execute marketing campaigns and identify new prospective channel partners to effectively reach off-grid homes.
At the same time, we are building the Sun Kingbrand as a symbol of extraordinary value for affordable, high quality, versatile, durable user-friendly products.
The Brand Manager will build new Sun King sales opportunities for our partners and stimulate Sun King brand awareness in Mozambique. Together with our distribution partners, the Sun KingBrand Manager will develop strategies and execute marketing initiatives to make sure every home in Mozambique knows and is drawn to the Sun Kingbrand.
The Brand Manager will report to the Senior Partnership Advisor, Southern Africa.
The ideal candidate for Brand Manager – Mozambique:
- Has at least a B.A. in sales, marketing, business development or a related field
- Has a minimum of 5-6 years experience, preferably in an FMCG or consumer durables setting
- Has the ability to understand the (rural) market environment for Sun King products and independently assess opportunities to strategically accelerate brand and channel development in Mozambique.
- Is passionate about bringing innovative renewable energy and life-enhancing products to Bottom of the Pyramid (BoP) markets
- Has an energetic, convincing and ‘can-do’ attitude and the ability to work independently and proactively
- Enjoys being out in the countryside and doesn´t mind to work under circumstances with basic facilities
- Can tell a great story; communicates clearly; can capture the interest and attention of 2 or 20 or 200 people at a time. Is fluent in English and Portuguese and has good software command (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
