Young Engineer Programme

Function Description

To start your career in international construction, join our:
Young Engineer Programme (YEP)
We welcome your application any time of the year.
The two-year Young Engineer Programme introduces you to all key engineering roles in our head office and on projects abroad. Generally the programme starts in the head office in Gouda, the Netherlands. For approximately six months you will be working in several engineering roles with our Tendering & Engineering department. After that follows your first project in one of our areas: Africa, Asia Pacific, Australia, the Americas or the Middle East/Gulf States. The last six months of the programme you will return to the head office to evaluate your progress and determine your career path after the Young Engineer Programme.
As a Young Engineer, you will first assist a tendering team and familiarise yourself with all aspects of our business in preparation for your first assignment on a BAM International project. The programme offers a fast and structured insight into the relevant company processes, including:
  • estimation and work preparation
  • quality and safety
  • materials and logistics control
  • commercial and contractual affairs
You will be part of our Tendering & Engineering department, which prepares the tenders that keep BAM International’s portfolio filled with projects around the globe. Throughout the programme, you will get all the support you need from your department head or project manager. Together with them, you will set out the goals for your personal development. You will be involved in the planning of each step of the programme. You will quickly become familiar with your tasks and responsibilities and the required knowledge, both project-specific and general technical knowledge.
