Advancing Girls’ Education in Africa (AGE Africa) is a Malawi-focused NGO that empowers rural Malawian girls through programs that promote their access to school and their personal development and economic success.  Currently the organisation provides comprehensive scholarships to young women in public secondary schools and supports them with CHATS: Creating Healthy Approaches to Success – an extracurricular career guidance, life skills and leadership program 

AGE Africa Seeks 2 District Officers , Zomba, Mulanje 

Overview: The Dos will oversee the implementation of AGE Africa’s scholarship fund and CATS after school (life and livelihoods skills) program but also manage relationships at district level 

Supervise and train all district level field staff, Lead the design and implementation of AGE Africa’s community engagement program, Ensure the timely and accurate collection of data from schools for M&E team, Facilitate AGE Africa’s community engagement program in each school catchment area based o the organisation’s community mobilisation strategy, Manage relationships with in partner schools, District level Govt officials etc, Facilitate organisational learning via annual and other reports 

Bachelors Degree required, Masters degree preferred in Education, Development, Social sciences or related field, Extraordinary professional experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelors Degree, Able to take initiative, work independently as well as work effectively with a culturally and socio-economically diverse group of colleagues and program participants: 5-10 yrs experience with progressive responsibility in development program or project implementation and coordination; Prior experience managing staff, Experience in community mobilisation, networking, development communication, and participatory methodologies, Experience working with teen-aged youth, extracurricular programming or a background in Education is a plus, Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft and database management, Must have excellent English written and oral communication skills, must be passionate about gender issues, gender equity and girls’ education 

This position reports immediately to the Country Director and eventually to AGE Africa’s Program manager, Salary will be commensurate with experience, AGE Africa provides a benefits package that includes health care, housing allowance and pension fund
