Head of Finance
Reporting to the Director of Finance and Administration, the incumbent will ensure the effective and efficient implementation of the Commission’s financial policies and account for its acquisition and utilisation of financial resources in line with standard accounting procedures, Govt policy and statutory provision
Set targets and supervise/coordinate performance of the financial unit Ensure that all accounting/financial reports legal requirements/govt (taxation etc0 required by donors and govt are prepared and submitted on time, Prepare monthly management accounts and produce quarterly and annual reports in compliance with the generally accepted accounting practices and procedures, Prepare strategic and corporate plans and annual budgets, ensure that the Director of Finance and Administration is kept abreast of he affairs of the unit at all times, Coordinate the data processing functions and maintains an efficient and up to date computerised accounting system for the organisation
A Bachelors degree in Accounting, Should also have wither ACCA, CIMA or ACCA and be a CPA with 5 yrs post qualifications and experience in donor funded projects, Experience in design and implementation of computerised accounting systems with mastery of modern accounting/financial procedures and practices, Have dignity and self-control with high moral standards and high levels of personal integrity, Strong analytical skills and an innovative an effective team player, Effective negotiation skills, Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills
