D-tree International is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of health care available to the world’s poor by using handheld technology to provide accurate and effective point-of-care diagnosis and treatment. Our vision is to equip frontline health workers with the tools they need to deliver first-class, evidence-based medical care to all patients. We are pursuing this vision by putting easy to use guidelines for diagnosis and treatment on mobile phones for use by health workers, the symptom-based protocols guide the user through a series of questions leading to an accurate diagnosis and treatment for each patient
We are seeking a Data Monitoring and Evaluation Officer for our mobile health projects in Malawi, who will be supporting both our community and faciliat based implementations. The position will be based in Lilongwe with occasional travel to implementation field sites.
We seek a candidate who is motivated, interested in health care and technology, open to innovative ideas and technology, efficient, eager to work hard and a team player. Position will require working closely with district and clinic level supervisors, partner oganisations and the D-tree team. Main responsibilities will include data monitoring and analysis, supporting managers to use the data, and working with the D-tree team to measure and describe impact and results of projects. We expect the candidates to be able to contribute to problem solving in a pro-active manner
We are looking for a candidate who is willing to take on any tasks that are required to make our project’/s successful. For this position, we are particularly looking for someone who will take responsibility for the data coming in through our mobile application projects as well as be involved in our field activities as necessary
Data monitoring and analysis - Monitor data, identify potential anomalies, interesting trends and assist resolve problems with the incoming data, Liaise with Ministry of Health officials about the mobile application dashboards and utilisation of data for decision making and follow up, Regular analysis and interpretation of data reporting, Integration of results into dissemination efforts including internal and external reporting, presentations for meetings, progress reposts for funders and partners and overall organisational marketing campaigns showcasing impact
Reporting – Write regular field and project reports with a focus on the electronic data collected, highlighting trends for internal and external audiences, Review, evaluate and present reports
Communications – Communicate clearly with Country Director and Project Manager, as well as virtual teams on data trends, Support knowledge sharing and marketing communications via data interpretation
Work experience – Minimum 5 yrs experience in M&E and/or IT/Statistics, experience in health desirable, Professional qualification – Minimum Bachelors Degree in IT/Statistics or public Health, Master’s degree desirable, Language – Excellent written and spoken English and Chichewa, Telephone/Computer – Familiar with use of mobile telephone and good computer skills, Ability to work independently with minimum supervision, Ability to travel up to 25% of the time within Malawi
