Chief Accountant – Central East African Railways Company Limited(CEAR)
Shall include performing duties in company’s financial planning, interpretation of statistical and accounting information, production of all group Management reports and ensuring that there are enough controls in the finance Dept, the successful candidate will be reporting directly to eh Director of Finance and administration
Reviewing of monthly management accounts Responsible for the company’s financial plan and policies, its accounting practices, the conduct of its relationship with banks in the financial community, the maintenance of its fiscal records, Production of all group management reports for the operations and projects required by group management, Formulation of company annual budget, development analysis, and interpretation of statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organisation, Coordinate the preparation of strategic and corporate plans, Ensuring that accounting procedures are in line with international accounting standards, Manage the annual auditing process and liaison with external auditors, Ensuring that there are enough controls in the finance dept, Manage and guide the finance
and accounting depts and provide continuing training to ensure that accounting personnel maintain skill levels necessary for the growth and demands, Responsible for tax planning and compliance with all national and local corporate, payroll and other applicable corporate taxes, Participating in operations meetings for the company, Administration of the departmental staff
Bachelors Degree in Accounting or equivalent, Should be a member of ACCA/CIMA and ICAM, Minimum of 5 yrs experience in similar position, Safety conscious at all times
