Manager, Portfolio Monitoring – NBS Bank Limited – Head Office – Blantyre
Tenable in the Credit Division
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and Head of Credit, the position is responsible for supporting the Chief Operating Officer and Head of Credit in ensuring that credit risk is properly managed under NBS Bank risk management framework and advise on risk profile across all service centres and divisions
Monitoring and improving portfolio quality to reduce loan loss provisions through active management of excesses, minimising arrears and timely and ongoing review of credit facilities, Providing portfolio information to management and other stakeholders through monthly and quarterly portfolio reports, Managing the appropriate classification of assets in line with performance of respective credit facilities, Improving quality of lending through policy and process reviews, Strategic planning and annual budgeting for the dept, Reviewing business modules for credit monitoring and control process, Facilitate and carry out portfolio stress testing exercises on regular basis for capital management purpose, Credit risk measurement and reporting which includes portfolio analysis, credit scoring and identification of operational risk in credit risk, exploring and implementing industry best practice in credit portfolio reporting processes, Training and development
needs identification of portfolio monitoring staff and implementing interventions to close skills gaps
A degree in any of the following fields, Accounting, Finance and Economics A Masters qualification is desirable, A minimum of 5 yrs in a commercial banking environment or other relevant industries, Experience in credit disbursements, recoveries or portfolio monitoring will be an added advantage
Excellent communication, organisational, planning, problem solving skills, strong analytical skills, Good understanding of financial and credit analysis software packages with strong computer skills, Excellent working knowledge of Basel II and IFRS, High levels of honesty and integrity, Multi-disciplinary skills i.e. Rick Baking, Finance, and Audit
