Logistics and Administration Assistant – Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine center for Maternal and Newborn Health (LSTM Malawi)
Short term 6 month contract – October 2015 to April 2016
The Centre for Maternal and Newborn Health at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM ) is an active academic unit seeking to improve maternal and newborn health globally, Our 2 major programmes in Malawi at present are the ‘Making It Happen’ programme, supported by DFID UK and the ‘Improving Quality Care for mother sand Babies’ programme, supported by UNICEF
Te aim of the programmes are to reduce maternal and newborn mortality and morbidity by increasing availability and improving the quality of Skilled Birth Attendance (SBA) and Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (EmONC), The purpose is to ensure best practice and an improved policy environment in maternal and newborn health which will be reflected in a step change in the coverage and uptake of quality Skilled Birth attendance (SBA) and Essential (Emergency) Obstetric Care (EOC) and newborn Care (NC)
In order to support the development of these programmes LSTM Malawi is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Logistics and Administration Assistant on a short term contract to join our team, The position will report to the Technical Officer 0- Senior Nurse/Midwife
In this role you will plan and coordinate logistics required to facilitate programme/operational research studies ain the field and undertake al associated administrative duties
You will have proven work experience in supporting project/programmes and providing high quality, effective logistical coordination and administrative duties, It is also essential that you have excellent computer literacy skills in Microsoft applications and record keeping skills
