Concern World Wide is an international NGO with its headquarters in Ireland, working in 25 countries in Africa, Asia and Caribbean.  In Malawi, we started our work in 2002.  We are currently working in the districts of Mchinji, Nkhotakota, Lilongwe and Nsanje. Implementing programmes in Food, Income, Markets, Health and nutrition, and Education.  Concern Worldwide is well known for its innovative and quality programmes and promotes learning and staff development for its staff through training.

Concern is currently searching for motivated, talented and hardworking individual for the following post
Logistics Manger – Lilongwe (with travel to field locations)

Is responsible for managing and delivering than efficient and effective logistics services across all Concern Worldwide Malawi programmes, ensuring standard policies and best practices are adhered to, The role will provide leadership technical support and capacity building to the country logistics staff

Line manage and supervise the Purchasing Officer, Storekeeper, Transport Assistant and mechanic, Maintain a high quality, country-wide procurement system, which is accountable, transparent and compliant with Concern Worldwide’s procurement policy and donor requirements, Ensure full compliance with procurement policies and strategies, with strong functioning systems and effective internal controls, Coordinate pre-qualification of suppliers, preparation of procurement plans and ensure correct documentation is in place for all procurement, Liaise with Concern’s head office in Dublin with regard to international purchases and freights, and oversee all clearance issues with Customs authorities, Implement and ensure full compliance with the concern Worldwide stores policies and procedures for the receipt and dispatch of all supplies in and out of stores in all Concern Worldwide Malawi bases, Coordinate the overall management of the transport fleet in line
 with Concern transport policies and procedures, Ensure safe operation of the fleet through driver selection and training quality maintenance, enforce local fleet operating and reporting procedures, Ensure security procedures are adhered to by Concern Worldwide staff, Attend and represent the organisation in security and interagency logistics related forms, Prepare, manage and monitor logistics budgets, for fleet management and vehicle hire, Oversee the training of all staff on the use of the Concern standards  Logistics and Transport procedures, review and consolidate monthly logistics reports (fleet, purchase and supply management) and prepare a monthly logistic situation report

Bachelors Degree in Business, Logistics, or an alternative relevant discipline, A minimum of 3 yrs experience in a senior logistics management role, Experience in effectively representing organisations with international offices, govt officials and other NGOs, Proven technical experience and skills in procurement, supply chain management, fleet management and maintenance, stock management and security, Strong proven experience of training and developing staff, Experience of high workload and multiple tasks in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines,  Experience of proactively identifying and addressing complex issues, Good computer skills, Excellent planning and organisational skills, Extensive experience in financial an staff management, Fluency in English and Chichewa
